Description
Sam Gopal: "Escalator" 1969, UK/Stable SLE8001. Disc is in nice EX to M- shape, a few small scuffs do not sound, this will be tough to upgrade! The UK original of this LP is not the best pressing, so don't expect audiophile sound. Cover has only light wear, bottom seam is split in the center as always, a previous owner touched up the spine with a black pen, this is VG+. Incredibly evil UK underground LP with Sam Gopal on tabla drums and demon-like vocals from a young Ian "Lemmy" Willis. Lyrics like "The air is full of voices crying for the death of yesterday" and "Whipped by the dying rain from the dead sky" are laid over a cacophony of angry, distorted guitars that only Elias Hulk ever matched. This LP is a killer, it's got an aura of doom that is unparallelled in the UK canon. One of the best!
