Description
This LP is getting very difficult to find.
It's on the UK Stable label and is entitled 'Escalator' by Sam Gopal. They were a prog/psych four piece from the UK led by Sam Gopal. Their claim to fame is that the lead guitar player was Ian 'Lemmy' Willis who later became famous as the bass player in Hawkwind and subsequently, Motorhead.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is SLE 8001. It was released originally in 1969. It is a very rare record.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is textured and is fragile is in reasonable condition. The front shows some wear and creasing and there are two tears which have been filled in with black marker pen. The rear sleeve shows some similar wear and also some ring wear. The edges and spine show some definite wear and the wording along the spine is partially obscured. I've graded the sleeve VG+.
INNER BAG - Plain white die cut paper type with clear polythene inner.
RECORD - The record is in fine condition. It appears to have been played quite a few times. There are some superficial marks on each side. It plays through well on both sides with some surface noise, especially between tracks and some occasional pops and clicks on both sides. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels are black (textured feel) with silver wording. There are some spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - SLE + 8001+ A - side two - SLE + 8001 +B. I've graded the record as VG+ which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
