After SAM KINISON’s first album had the words “comedy genius” being tossed around, and his appearance on Rodney Dangerfield’s Young Comedians Special, he turned in a scene-stealing history professor in the Rodney Dangerfield movie Back to School. By the time of his second album, 1988's Have You Seen Me Lately? the former preacher had made a mark on pop culture as a "rock & roll comic" as well.
The track Rubber Love caused a controversy with Kinison's comments on safe sex, homosexuals, and AIDS. Warner Bros. even caved and placed a sticker on the album saying the contents did not reflect its corporate views. The Butt & The Bible & Parties With The Dead go beyond tastelessness, which, in Kinison's hands, guarantees hilarity. He takes the rock & roll comic title to heart and delivers a star-studded novelty version of THE TROGG’s classic Wild Thing. Musical Guests include Motley Crue’s Vince Neil, Quiet Riot’s Rudy Sarzo, session drummer supreme Mike Baird, & Poison guitarist C.C. DeVille.
