This week I am offering a very scarce and sought after Northern Soul Classic 45 RPM Record by SAM WILLIAMS on TOWER RECORDS #367 White Label PROMO Original. The songs are : LET'S TALK IT OVER / LOVE SLIPPED THROUGH MY FINGERS. Love Slipped Through My Fingers is a CLASSIC on the Northern Soul Scene. The label is in pretty nice shape with some wear from age and both sides have a date written in red ink (as shown in the picture). The Record itself has good and bad news. The Good news is that the Classic side LOVE SLIPPED THROUGH MY FINGERS is in excellent condition. SOLID VG+ to maybe VG++. This side plays Excellent! Very strong shine with only minor signs of play. Quite nice indeed. The Bad news is that the other side LET's TALK IT OVER has a great shine but unfortunately it also has one pretty ugly feelable and hearable scratch that is gonna cause a pop or potential skip depending on your gear. Otherwise this side would also rate VG+ but this is a FEELABLE cut into the wax. If you have a technique maybe you could get it to play without a pop? But this mark causes a tick / pop for the the first half inch of the grooves. It did however play all the way thru on my portable tester turntable but at one point it skipped on my better turntable. If you want this SCARCE single for the Let's Talk It Over side please be warned about the scratch I mentioned. It ain't pretty but maybe you have a magic method to play it through without the pop? The Love Slipped Through My Fingers side is quite nice though! This is very tough record to find and I am including a portion of what John Ridley has to say about this single on his website : This single is the celebrated - and very rare - "Love Slipped Through My Fingers", a big, big record on the Northern soul scene. He also seems to like the scratched side better but regardless this is a TOUGH 45 to find anywhere and it goes pretty high when it shows up. I have set a reserve of $300 and I think thats fair as the last time it turned up here on Ebay it went over $1,000.
