SANDRA BARRY “We Were Lovers (when the party began)” (1964) Led Zep connection
All images are scans/photos of the actual item.
This was Sandra Barry’s 2nd single following up on her 1st on Decca “Really Gonna Shake”, which was credited
as Sandra Barry & The Boys. After The Boys split to follow their own career (becoming The Action in 1965),
Sandra signed for Pye and recorded this record,
backed by the uncredited Jet Blacks, which included John Paul Jones, later of Led Zeppelin fame.
She recorded two further 45s for Pye, which despite good reviews, failed to bother the charts.
She then vanished from the scene until 1973, when she returned as the front woman of Slack Alice
now calling herself Alice Spring.

Grading
Record:EX/EX
Cover:EX
Label:EX
The grading standard used is the UK Record Collector magazine gradings as described below
Mint
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Please note
Sorry, but I do not send packages to Central & South America, some East European countries and Africa due to high fraud rates.
Payment Payment is preferred via PAYPAL, but I will also accept payment from UK based buyers via cheque or postal orders, but if you chose to pay via these, you items will not be despatched until after 5 working days when the payment has cleared. Shipping Please be assured that I never aim to make profit from P&P and charges are solely to cover costs. All discs are removed from the sleeve (if appropriate to avoiding seem splits in transit) and are inserted into a brand new 450g polythene sleeve and sent in purpose made mailers with 2 stiffeners, clearly marked fragile. Return Policy Returns are accepted in the unlikely event that the item purchased does not match the grading given and it is returned in the condition sent and in packaging comparable to that which it was originally sent in. I respectfully request that before returning, you please contact me and advise me of the situation If there is not a fault but another reason you wish to return it, please contact me and I will do my utmost to resolve the situation, but be advised that I will not reimburse the return postage costs if the item is being returned for any reason other than being faulty or “not as described” unless it has been agreed prior to being returned. About Us I have been a collecting and dealing in records for nearly 30 years and the items on sale are either part of my collection that I no longer require, or have acquired over the years as part of a job lot I purchased. In addition to selling records, I also, from time to time offer for sale other interesting items (movie posters, lobby cards, magazines, books etc) I come across in my search for records and have some knowledge about (movie & music memorabilia, collectable books & magazines etc). I have been buying and selling on Ebay since July 2000, and have a 100% positive feedback rate. I pride myself on giving accurate gradings & descriptions and doing everything I can to ensure that every sale goes smoothly. I believe that collectable items are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, so all my auctions have a realistic starting/asking price in relation to their rarity and/or condition. 625 (GS 6.9.7 (625))price rating
