Description
Available here is a 12" vinyl LP by Sandy Denny - The North Star Grassman and the Ravens. A UK 1st pressing, it was issued by Island in 1971 with the catalogue number ILPS 9165.
Identifiers - Island pink rim label in a matt gatefold sleeve. Two near identical versions were issued at the same time and this is the variant without Island Records Ltd on the centre labels. Pressing marks are as follows -
Matrix / Runout - Side A - Stamped - ILPS 9165 A-1U STERLING
Matrix / Runout - Side B - Stamped - ILPS 9165 B-1U STERLING
Vinyl Condition - Excellent - The record is bright and clean with no worrying scratches and barely a surface mark. Having listened all the way I can confirm that there is no jumping or sticking but the odd click may be heard. Background crackle is occasional and negligible if heard, so overall a great clear sound.
Cover/Sleeve Condition - Excellent- - Original gate-fold sleeve with light wear but free from any damage. There is a little surface and edge/corner rubbing but nothing serious. Inner sleeve is white, die-cut and poly-lined. A little discoloured with a hand-written number in the corner, it is probably as issued.
