Description

SANDY STANTON -- Why Don't You Smile At Me / I Don't Want Your Address Anymore -- hard to find, original 1955 U.S. 45 RPM single, DJ Promo copy on red colored vinyl.  Sandy Stanton was a fascinating fringe figure who started out in the late 1950's with the (more or less legit) Fable Records label which put out a number of groovy Teen Rock, Hillbilly Country and Pop 45's ... and then he veered off-road into the weird twilight world of Song Poem records, releasing oddball gems on his Film City, Abbey and Opossum labels by amateur songwriters.  (Google him and you'll find a bunch of information about this online.)  This was only the 2nd 45 released on Fable and features two excellent Hillbilly - Honky Tonky - Early Country numbers by Stanton in a lonesome Ernest Tubb - Webb Pierce vein, killer stuff.  ("I Don't Want Your Address Anymore" has turned up since on the "Boppin' Hillbilly Vol. 23" compilation out of Holland.)  In generic sleeve.  Record:  VG+, light surface wear, wear on label, U.S. press.
