"Borboletta was the first new Santana band studio album in 11 months and the group's sixth overall. Once again, individual credits were listed for each song. The band was cooking along on all 4 burners; Carlos turned in the usual complement of high-pitched lead guitar work, and the percussionists pounded away, but the Santana sound had long since taken over from any individual composition. The results are pure guitar pleasure."
40TH ANNIVERSARY 2013 RELEASE: "Originally released in 1974, Santana's 6th studio album is one of his jazz-funk-fusion oriented albums featuring an extended band. the guitarist leaves a lot of room for percussion, saxophone and keyboards to set moods, as well as lengthy guitar solos and vocals. the butterfly album cover design, available in a gatefold cover, is an allusion to the album BUTTERFLY DREAMS by Brazilian musician Flora Purim and her husband Airto Moreira, whose contributions to the album deeply influenced the sound of Borboletta."

WoW! This record DOES cook on all 4 burners! I have listened to the 1974 release of this album many times and it never failed to move me on many levels. It is a shame that this 40th Anniversary edition is sealed, I'm sure the sound of it is nothing less than ORGASMIC! This is the 40th Anniversary edition, pressed on Audiophile 180-Gram Vinyl. Carlos recorded Borboletta in 1973 after all. This album, according to my sources, is a LIMITED EDITION but it is not numbered. No, I do not know how many of these were pressed but it is very RARE on eBay and as I write this, March 5, 2015, there is only ONE OTHER ON EBAY in this version. Don't Miss this One! 'Nuff said.
