Gorgeous, super clean, high lustre red vinyl looks and plays like new one side and has very few faintest hairlines on other side. Far cleaner sound than most vinylite pressings, with only a very low crackle at beginning of side 1. Deep groove, red on aqua, 1st issue 49TH STATE labels are immaculate

Vivid, bright, extremely clean cover has no wear, creases, soil or marks.
Seams and spine 100% intact with no wear or splits. All corners sharp.

One of the more obscure, but delightful marvels from the short-lived 49th State catalog -renowned for their red vinyl 10" LPs of numerous Hawaiian artists. This Island Christmas LP was a kamaina party favorite in its day and almost never turns up in such pristine condition. Nice enough to have a full luster, unfaded and crisp front cover art slick, unmarked - but the back, which is unprinted, pure white ...is just that: pure white -no soil, smudges, discoloration spots or any marks.

The long, full-side piece: "Santa's Gone Hawaiian!" is a 15+ minute story with pieces of song like Brian Wilson's Mt. Vernon and Fairway from the Holland album. It's a delightful seasonal insight into Hawaiian culture told in a warm wahini voice.

On side 2, the three cuts by Genoa Keawe are wonderful classic Hapa Haola recordings -- vintage era songs of blended Hawaiian and mainland musical traditions and language. Janet Hilo does a quintessential Hawaiian song-story ...backed by The Hula Maids; the two cuts by Lucky Luck are classic Christmas stories made Hawaiian and told in deep pidgin ...nothing slick about this LP; it's a sincere glimpse at Christmas in Hawaii.
