SATURN PICTURE DISC, Roger Bourdin, Albert Wolff
Mozart: Les Noces de Figaro, "Now your days of philandering are over b/w Rossini: Le Barbier de Seville, "Start a Slander.
Both titles sung in French by Roger Bourdin of the Paris Opera, with Albert Wolff and the Pasdeloup Concert Orchestra.
Vintage UK pressed Saturn Records 12" picture disc, 0 704, housed in plain sleeve.
Visually surfaces are very clean and display just a few of the lightest of superficial hairlines, no scratches or gouges. A couple of small blips to the surfaces which are the result of manufacture. There are a couple of small surface chips to the run-ins of the B side which do not encroach onto the grooves. One small hairline fracture is visible to both sides at the edge area. There is no pliancy to the disc at this point, and when gently tapped next to the ear the disc does not have a dull rattle. Clearly the fracture has been stopped from spreading at the point at which the picture starts.
Disc has not been play tested, although these picture discs are primarily novelty display pieces with quality of sound reproduction not a prime concern of manufacture.
