The National Hardwood Floor Association released an album of political prank calls to Christian radio station KPDQ[disambiguation needed] in 1992. The only known members of the group were Joel Schalit, who later became co-editor of the magazine Punk Planet and was a member of the follow-on group Christal Methodists and the post-rock group Elders Of Zion; and Electro Motive records owner and Wetgate member Peter Conheim, who joined Negativland in the late 1990s. The NHFA's influence can be clearly discerned in both Schalit and Conheim's post-Savage Vigilance recordings. The NHFA spun off another prank-call enterprise, The Christal Methodists, which also collaborated on projects with Brother Russell Ministries.
History
The National Hardwood Floor Association started in Portland, Oregon in 1987. Originally consisting of a group of undergraduate students attending Reed College, the 'band' was anointed the NHFA by Conheim for the release of the Savage Vigilance For A Rug-Free America LP. First issued by his own Electro Motive label.
BELOW IS A REVIEW OF THE CD (this is an LP) FROM PRANKCALLCENTRAL
Savage is the operative word for perhaps the funniest crank call collection ever released. A Christian radio talk show in Portland, Oregon was relentlessly pranked by a merry band of lunatics over a three year period, and this classic CD presents the hilarious NHFA prank calls in all their glory. From queries about finding a good Christian abortionist to bizarre prayer healing requests, this amazing CD hits those bibles below the belt! While this requires more patience than some of the other prank calls you may have heard before reaching the final payoff, there are plenty of choice moments throughout the calls, such as riffs on the Church of the Subgenius, gays in the military, gluttony, and Michael Jackson being a Jehovah's Witness. Lots of background music and sounds effects are thrown in to add to the call's overall effect. The prank calls heard on this CD were made to the Christian radio station KPDQ in Portland over a three year period. KPDQ was an outpost of the Oregon Citizens Alliance who campaigned heavily against homosexuals and pregnant women. The Hardwood Floors turned this oppressive talk radio show into an opportunity to inject humor, theater, absurdity, and unpredictability into the show's format. Callers assumed names and identities, personal problems and differences of opinion, and by the end of each call (usually terminated by the host) undermined the integrity of the subject matter or else made it very hard for the host to keep from laughing. This CD is a testament to the hilarious nature of prank calling. These calls should be archived and played on a daily basis.

NM: virtually no signs of use. Should play like new. / Cover is still in shrink.
VG++ a couple small only surface lines that shouldn’t affect sound. /Cover almost perfect.
VG+ Some mostly surface lines. If any audible imperfections they should be relatively minimal. Sometimes there will be only visual but no audible imperfections. The cover will be in good shape but there will be some signs of use.
VG Might have a number of only surface lines or may have a small scratch. Some background sound but still very enjoyable. In this condition any significant defects will be noted.
VG- it will have significant background sound from various defects but music always be quite audible above it. Or it may have a scratch. In this condition any significant defects will be noted.

HOW I PACK FOR LPs FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
To keep the price of international shipping of 1 LP at $15.00 I don’t charge for packaging costs but I need to keep the weight within 1lb. I use professional Lp mailers & in addition I usually use a light but hard foam stiffener. Sometimes I will use 1 piece of cardbord. I take the record out of the jacket if there is a possibility it might split. I don't recall ever having any problems shipping this way. If you would like me to ship differently you must contact me before you pay so I can invoice you for any extras costs.
