Description
NOTE: This is NOT the 1985 Combat Records pressing, this is the ORIGINAL PAR RECORDS pressing, dated 1983. PAR Records Catalog number PAR 1050. Includes handwritten note detailing recording info on Blonde on Blonde Management letterhead (see details below).
This is from a collection of former radio station vinyl, so they are labeled with the radio station call letters and various other notes in marker. For the most part, the covers are in fair condition and vinyl in very good condition (exceptions are noted).
Exceptions for Savatage - Sirens: cover has markings on front only, and vinyl has ink pen note with radio station call letters on the label on both sides. Cover is in better shape than many from the station, considering its age and time spent in the record stacks.
An extra awesome addition to this auction is the original HAND WRITTEN letter from Blonde on Blonde Management (who are named on the back of the record) dated 8-12-83 detailing the Sirens LP release and tracklisting with its release date (July 23, 1983), Sirens EP with tracklisting and release time (Jan 1983), and another release in August 1983 (Y95 Pirates, Produced by Savatage- couldn't find any info on that, so I could be wrong on deciphering the writing). This is a great vintage and extremely rare piece dating to precision the original independent first pressing of this classic Savatage record.
Side A: Sirens - Holocaust - I Believe - Rage
Side B: On the Run - Twisted Little Sister - Living for the Night - Scream Murder - Out on the Streets

I have gone back to this record, cleaned it with Discwasher, and am currently listening to it on headphones (daughter is taking a nap) and well into side 2 and have not yet heard any skips. With a decent turntable, the classic analog qualities & presence will be evident- I'm using a Revolver turntable and an Arcam amp and especially enjoy the guitar tone. There is some slight surface noise that are quite normal with a played and used record of this age. I can honestly say the vinyl for this record falls in the VG category as described below:
Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.
Keep in mind that this LP cover is in Good condition and has the writing you can see on the front in the picture. The vinyl is in VG condition, though. Let me know if there are other questions.
