Description
This is an original stereo issue - Columbia SAX2261 - Original cover and sleeve. Music detailed on reverse side of the cover.is written by Sir Thomas Beecham's one time RPO horn payer Norman Del Mar.
The cover and sleeve are in excellent condition. Disc side 1 and 2 are very bright and very clean. Taken from my own collection. There are NO scratches - NO warp and NO marks or slightest scuff to spoil your enjoyment of the Philharmonia under Walter Legge's young chosen conductor - von Karajan.
Surely it is the music that counts ? as this is NOT totally mint pressing but simply shows its age in a remarkable way. Yes it is a rare item and hard to find these days in this condition. I played this LP again this morning using my Linn Sondek LP12 turntable and 9 Iinch SME arm playing at 2 grammes. The arm is fitted with an audio tachnica mc cartridge. There are some very quiet moments in Ravel's orchestration - the tracks play VERY well well indeed with nothing to suggest it is a 1959 pressing and played by me over the years... Please bid with confidence - I am sure you will enjoy this original recording.
Packing for the successful buyer will be 'fit for purpose' - and tracked accordingly.

I have played this disc and listenenned VERY, very carefully. I much enjoyed the experience and quite surprised that the Suisse Romande played so well and faithfully for Silvestri. I must stress that I am NOT a dealer in recordings on lP - I am an orchstral player - after all, it is the music that counts and so much the better when a decent copy for its age comes along such as this one. I only own one LP stereo copy of this disc . Trust you will be pleased with this November 1958 issue.
Playing equipment used - Linn Sondek LP12 turntable - 9 inch SME arm fitted with an audio technica AT-OC5 mc cartridge. Cyrus and Lowther equipment. I post to Internation buyers. Usually insured and tracked.

I have played the whole disc again after many years on the shelf to evaluate its condition - there are some very quiet moments - the background is also almost quiet.
