SAX 2269-72 blue/silver – DER ROSENKAVALIER – SCHWARZKOPF/EDELMANN/LUDWIG
Columbia stereo recording on blue/silver labels catalogue numbers SAX 2269-72 (SMS 1003) issued as a boxed set of 4-LPs. Richard Strauss’s opera "Der Rosenkavalier" with Herbert von Karajan conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra. Soloists: Elizabeth Schwarzkopf, Otto Edelmann, Christa Ludwig, Teresa Stich-Randall, Eberhard Wachter.
The 4 discs are in fantastic condition and appear to be unplayed; we have not played them. One label on each disc has a "Factory Sample Not for Sale" sticker. The small format 64-page libretto has minor creasing. The box is overall excellent with a small area of surface removal at bottom right front corner. A wonderful set!
