Description

Lovely copy of the rare Columbia UK stereo LP, SAX 2342, Mendelssohn Symphony No. 3, 'Scotch' and Hebrides Overture, Otto Klemperer conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra. Original Turquoise/Blue and Silver label, YAX 547-6/YAX 548-13 matrix numbers.

Front-laminated, flipback sleeve has a few light edge creases (including one to the top flipback visible on the back), a little corner wear and very light ringwear. It has the original tax stamp applied to the back, close to the bottom flipback. Overall, the sleeve is in splendid shape, with lovely colour and glossy laminate; it certainly grades EX. Original poly-lined EMI 'The Musical Centres of the World' inner included.

Vinyl is extremely clean and shiny, and flat, with no warp, a very well looked after example, with just a couple of barely noticeable, very small hairlines. Audio is very strong, with some light crackle at the start of each side soon dissipating. A little surface noise in quieter parts, to be expected from these vintage pressings, and a few light clicks, but these do not detract from the wonderful stereo sound. Overall, vinyl grades EX to EX+.
