First press Blue/ Silver label. SAX 2408
Bach Brandenburg Concertos nos.1,2, & 6.
Otto Klemperer & The Philharmonia Orchestra.
Recorded on 30th September and 1st, 3rd-9th & 11 October 1960
at Studio No. 1 Abbey Road, London and released in March 1961.
The original price sticker is on the front. It is easily removable but I have left on for the
sake of authenticity. Rare indeed!
This is a first pressing on the Blue /Silver Columbia record label and NOT a later re-issue or copy.
First press matrix numbers YAX 647-3 & YAX 648-3 with
1 R and 1 G mother/stampers at nine o'clock and 3 o' clock.
Columbia (EMI) operated a system based on G*R*A*M*O*P*H*L*T*D where
G comes off the original master R off the second and so on.
The "1" speaks for itself.
Each stamper was used to make approximately five hundred pressings
so this is indeed a very, very early pressing.
The vinyl is bright and has a lovely original sheen.
The labels have barely any spindle traces and no damage or writing on them.
Look at the close ups of the spindle holes to see how clean they are!
The sleeve is EX+. These are flimsy and easily damaged.
This one is not. See pictures especially of the rear to see how clean it is.. Thank you.
Absolutely no major problems like repeats or jumps. Strict RC gradings. Please see my other items.

GRADING NOTES - POSTAL RATES.- Records:- strict Record Collector gradings.
- NEAR MINT ~ visual inspection has revealed that the record plays noiselessly. If there are any surface marks these will be noted in the listing.
- EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
- VERY GOOD ~ The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. despite noticeable surface and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover on extra items without any major defects s acceptable
