Description

1962 release of Columbia Sax 2454 and 2455 2 LP set of Bruckner's Symphony No.7 Sides 1,2 and 3 and Wagner's Siegfried Idyll side 4 with Otto Klemperer conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra.  The vinyl for the most part looks in excellent condition especially the Bruckner. I had some concern about 2 very small dots at the end of side 1 at 7 o'clock. They are side by side and smaller than the width of a pinhead but are feelable. I'm not sure what they are but thankfully they don't have any impact and the record plays straight through albeit with some surface noise and a small pop.  Side 3 has a noticeable mark at 12 o'clock. Very thin hairline at the top and about 2 cm downwards with a slight 'j' shaped turn . It is not feelable though and the record plays through okay even if it is a little crackly. There are a few other hairlines I detected under strong light most notably at 3, 3-30, 7 and 8-30 but none looks serious. I know that both records will be given a professional clean by any prospective buyer before playing anyway. Should be excellent after that. Visually I would rate side 1 Ex but for the 2 small dots, side 2 Ex, side 3 VG+ and side 4 Ex .   The sleeves are VG+ as there is some mottling at the top of both (see picture 4) as well as a few bumps and a bit of wear There is also mottling/staining on the rear of the sleeve 2454 and a few stains on the rear of the sleeve 2455. There are remnants of 'tags' on both sleeves. They also have both original inner sleeves with pictures of Music Venues round the world and various performers. They are quite creased but in good nick. Overall I think this is a splendid set and as I say once it has been  professionally cleaned it will, I'm sure, sound excellent. If the buyer is dissatisfied after cleaning then returns are accepted within 30 days.
