Description
EMI Columbia Records stereo SAX 5252. ER1 red semicircle "Magic Notes" label disc pressed in England. First label for this issue. Laminated flipback jacket. Promotional "Not for Sale" sticker on the disc label. Otto Klemperer conducts music of Mozart and Handel. Mozart, Serenade, K. 525, "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik", with the New Philharmonia Orchestra, recorded for this album, 1966, Mozart Symphony no. 25 in G minor and Handel Concerto Grosso, op. 6, no. 4, are with the Philharmonia Orchestra. The Eine Kleine Nachtmusik was a new recording for this issue in 1966. The Symphony #25 was previously issued on SAX 2278, and the Handel was only originally issued on an early 10" disc, SBO 2751 (see my other listings for that record). SBO 2751 also included Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, but that is not the recording on this disc. I listened to the two, and it is immediately obvious that they are different recordings.
