RARE UK first pressing of Scaffold`s sophomore album, the aptly-titled "L The P" on Parlophone Records (May 1969). Includes the Europe-wide number one singalong hit "Lily The Pink".
Not an easy find (especially in this condition), Scaffold`s "L The P" only shows up on Ebay two or three times per year...
"The Scaffold, which was founded in 1964, are a comedy, poetry and music trio, which consist of Mike McGear, whose real name is Peter Michael McCartney, Roger McGough and John Gorman. This group hails from Liverpool England, which is where the Beatles first established their group. Mike McGear is the brother of Paul McCartney. The Scaffold was known to perform a medley of comic songs, comedy sketches and the poetry that was composed by Roger McGough. On this disc of 33 rpm, Andy Roberts played the guitar with the group. The title of this album, L The P, is an abbreviation of the traditional folksong "Lily The Pink"." - 45worlds.com

- Original UK first-pressing sleeve with laminated rear cover (a spoof of The Doors` debut album sleeve, by the way).
- Minor rub-off to the front cover, as shown.
- Minimal corner wear.
- Slight scuffing to the bottom edge.
- Also includes the custom-printed EMI inner sleeve in unblemished MINT(-) condition.
MINT- RECORD that looks practically unplayed.
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- Superficial scratch (8 mm long) at the beginning of Side Two causes a few near-inaudible background ticks.
- Paper scuff from sleeve removal on Side Two.
- Other than that, no hairlines, scuffs or scratches at all.
- Original first-pressing Parlophone Records labels ("Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions...") with no spindle wear whatsoever.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "YEX 725 - 1" on Side One and "YEX 726 - 1" on Side Two.
- Mothers/Stampers: "1 / R" on Side One and "1 / A" on Side Two.
- This copy of "L The P" is certified to be a very first UK pressing, issued in May 1969.
