We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SCARCE and sought ... mid '70s Original first pressing ...one of the hardest GROOVIES to find... combining 1970 & 1971 tracks with never before released tracks from 1971...

Starting out in San Francisco as early as 1965 (actually predating the Grateful Dead!), the Flamin Groovies were always out of step with the rock world. Ten years before bands routinely released their own independent records, the Groovies issued a 10-inch mini-album, Sneakers; in the '60s, when that same do-it-yourself spirit was inspiring countless innovative bands to try and challenge the old boundaries, the Groovies retreated to make albums of beat group nostalgia, wearing period clothes and refusing to acknowledge that times had indeed changed.

Always more cult-popular and influential than commercially successful, the Groovies, led by irascible but talented guitarist/singer Cyril Jordan and (until 1971) singer/guitarist Roy A. Loney, always embodied the rebellious, youthful spirit that fueled punk, but held tenuously to their musical roots — '50s American rock'n'roll and '60s British pop. In effect, they provided inspiration for countless bands (how many covers of "Slow Death" can you name?) and are legendary for good reason.

The Groovies' recording career, generally more exciting on hit-and-run singles than in a sustained album situation, began with the competent amateurism of Sneakers — Loney originals played with great energy and a slight psychedelic undercurrent — and continued on their major-label debut, Supersnazz, which encompasses a variety of disparate rock'n'roll styles (peaking with killer versions of Little Richard's "The Girl Can't Help It" and Eddie Cochran's "Somethin' Else") but is more ambitious than impressive. Flamingo and Teenage Head are the band's strongest early efforts, taking advantage of improved skills and equipment to make loud, brash records in sharp contrast to the era's prevailing bland and puffed- up music.

Following Loney's departure, the Groovies drafted talented guitarist/singer Chris Wilson and began heading in a new direction. They moved to England, hooked up with (x-Love Sculpture)Dave Edmunds as their producer and re-emerged with the Edmunds-produced Shake Some Action in 1976, featuring two '72 leftovers — "You Tore Me Down" and the amazing, apocalyptic Byrds-like "Shake Some Action"  — which most reflected the group's power-pop reorientation.

Still Shakin was rushed out by their old label (Buddah and Kama Sutra being related) as a last chance to jump in, combining on side one: the best tracks from Flamingo and Teenage Head and on side two: with a never before released  1971 live-in-the-studio complete side session that is of high interest to fans of the band....

In other words...The first side features two songs from Flamingo and four from Teenage Head plus another one from Teenage Head era. The second side features a live-in-the-studio set of six more  from the same 1971 sessions.

CONDITION: The cover: Sharp and stiff all over, M- the white background is CLEAN and usually found dirty IF found at all ... no bends, no split seams, no writing ... a TOP copy!

The vinyl: all smooth and clear...top M- and looks. sounds just great with no audio problems anywhere ... clean Buddah labels
