We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. CLEAN ...and RARE, seldom seen, original 1973 first pressing of hardrock trio featuring the smighty guitar of GARY MOORE who had then recently split up his '60s SKID ROW band who had two collectible albums ... GRINDING STONE was the next release after the Skid Row Lp's and followed the same path ...

With only six tracks on this LP you'd be forgiven for thinking that 1973's Grinding Stone was an EP. In fact, it's a stupendously brilliant LP with long tracks ! This was at a time when Gary Moore had grown out of his bluesy roots and the start of his rocked-out direction. One of the special things about Moore is his unwillingness to do the same thing twice. Throughout his career he has played classical, blues, jazz, and in 1973, Hard Rock guitar. All of it exceptional. His first band, SKID ROW released two late hard psych 60's albums, now sought collectibles. Grinding Stone was the 1st, and last, album to be recorded by the Gary Moore Band, a wicked guitar trio (which featured Moore on vocals and guitar, Pearse Kelly on drums and percussion and John Curtis on bass). Moore's guitar playing is absolutely sublime. However, to those that love his bluesy stuff, you might not like this album because it was done at a time when Moore thought that to be a great guitarist you had to be fast. He realized soon after this LP that this is not true. The high point of the album is by far the 17-minute Energy Dance/Maelstrom "Spirit" (in two parts) with so many twists and turns but every single minute is scarily good. Without The epic track this album would be still good LP but Spirit makes it a must get album. The song is not only a lengthy jammer, but one of the all-time favourite Gary Moore guitar tracks, it cooks!

"Grinding Stone" is not only hard to find and sought after for good reason, but an important chapter in the guitar slingers history...

CONDITION: The cover:Hard to find clean with the dark cover and all, this copy is collection worthy VG++ with only a 'touch' of shelf wear starting ... no bends, no writing and no split seams...has strong original colors ... 

The vinyl: both sides are clean M- looking and playing clean ... both PI Cosmos labels are clean 

keeper!
