Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Sought after ....Original 1974 first pressing in old style silver foil cover that is impossible to find without scuffs and wear ...Japanese vocalist Damo Suzuki left the band leaving members Holger Czukay (bass); Michael Karoli (guitar, vocals on Dizzy Dizzy and Chain Reaction); Jaki Leibezeit (drums); and Irmin Schmidt (piano, synthesizers, and vocals on Come sta, la Luna) to carry on. The five tracks on the album range in length from 5:44 to 11:12, and most display the typical Can sound, although there is more of an emphasis on bouncy rhythms, and brighter textures on the first three tracks. Specifically, there is a bossa nova in there, and Splash has almost an east coast (hot) acid-jazz feel to it - only in the loosest sense of the style. Jaki is an excellent drummer and he does a fantastic job with both styles - in fact his propulsive style really drives this entire album along.Tracks include the pulsating Chain Reaction (11:12) and the synthesizer heavy and atmospheric Quantum Physics (8:33). It is worth noting that Chain Reaction and Quantum Physics are seamlessly joined, creating a larger track that approaches 20 minutes in length.
Soon Over Babaluma continues Can's departure from their tougher, jamming style and towards a laid-back fusion of world music percussion with the spacious atmospheres of complex electronic keyboards, guitars and a violin (violin courtesty of guitarist Michael Karoli). Karoli also handled the vocals and the difference is not as tremendous as one might think. You can hear plenty of him right off the bat; the first two tracks, "Dizzy Dizzy" and "Come sta La Luna" are the two most vocally-oriented songs on the album. The aptly titled "Dizzy Dizzy" does what a lot of earlier Can songs had excelled at — establish a hypnotic bass and drum groove and build around it — but it does so in a new way for Can. A different kind of beat and the swirling violin add a vaguely Mediterranean, even Middle Eastern feel to Can's trademark repetition. Those same elements penetrate even further on "Come sta La Luna," although that song is more about the swaying melody than a repetitive groove. The third track, "Splash" is a jazzy stew of hurtling guitar and violin improvisations set to one of Jaki Liebezeit's most dazzling drum patterns. "Chain Reaction," is another standout foreshadowing of techno/house music: the pounding bass drum and brittle guitar textures recall music made much later than 1974.
