Description

Charlie Sayles, The Raw Harmonica Blues of Charlie Sayles (Dusty Road LP 701) (1976).

At the time of this, his first recording, blues harmonica-player and singer Sayles was 28 and was playing on the streets of New York, where the blues collector/researcher Dave Sax encountered him. The resulting LP, on which Sayles sings and plays with various combinations of guitar, bass, drums and hi-hat, was issued on Sax's own label, Dusty Road, on which this would be the only release. Long liner-notes by Sax.
