Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1976 first pressing by underground prog-psych Krautrock legends THIRSTY MOON. The bands formula changed from the jazzyprog-rock to hard psych / spacerock sound with "BLITZ "
It can be a blessing and a curse to emerge from a fertile musical crescent: observe the misfortune that affected Oxford band The Candyskins in the documentary Anyone Can Play Guitar, unable to capture the mainstream success which their peers Radiohead and Supergrass did. Thirsty Moon have the same problem in relation to German rock of the 1970s. Formed by the merger of two already disparate groups (one of which, The Shakespears, is usually labelled as ‘jazz-soul’), they have a chaotic and all-inclusive sound reminiscent of the first Chicago Transit Authority Lp interwoven with space-rock injections. Even the Krautheads who know of the band will probably be more familiar with their early experimental output, "BITZ" is pleasingly a surprise from start to finish...
The album kicks off with ‘Lord Of Lightning’, hitting the ground running with some crashing power chords, a precursor equivalent of Sonic Youth’s ‘The Sprawl’. The next track, ‘Riding In The Rain’, picks up the pieces from the lightning-rod opener but with a calculated funk groove on the bass which is one of the album’s defining sounds. In Thirsty Moon’s case their tracks throughout this album account for the boldness in claiming the word "blitz" in the album’s title. Occasionally a dark current bubbles up from under the surface: ‘Speak For Yourself’ comes off as one of the darkest Bond themes never recorded, and the album’s culmination is the penultimate track, ‘The Jungle Of Your Mind’ with a percussive solo both dense and tense, a more equatorial version of ‘Whole Lotta Love’ that peters out with no resolution. The title indicates that the lightning and humidity forbade by the beginning of the album has its roots in the imagination; check out the combination of plucked guitar and synthesized woodwind in ‘It Was Love’, or the razor-guitar mixing in ‘Sudwind’. The latter track is highlighted by its groove, and the album rarely lets up from being oddly foot-taping. The final track, ‘Crickets Don’t Cry’ is something of a shamanistic rainstorm conjured by the album, inevitable given that each track strives for an epic quality.
For all said, Thirsty Moon’s "Blitz" is one of the finest examples of how obscure underground bands of the 1970s made decidedly "cool" music for psych & prog heads.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: "EX" (excellent) per usual for these 40+ year old Krautrock albums, the lamination is peeling slightly from the edges. Still lmination is all there unlike many similar covers that have peeled in places or peeled off. There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy ...
The vinyl: Rated: M- shines all over, plays with very enjoyable CLEAN audio & both green BRAIN labels are clean
