Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. LONG LONG GONE super-deluxe EXACT gatefold reissue to the big league high end $$$ collectible ... this UK edition is long long gone issued in the late last century ...Ahh, Octopus, one of the most underrated records of the transitional era between psychedelic popsike and progressive rock, leaning much more towards the former than the latter. This album as an original is extremely rare and unaffordable expensive, but OVER 20 years ago (and now long-long gone) UK Essex released it again with a lavish gatefold cover same as the original. The LP is legendary and blows away a lot of bands in the same direction who did better commercially - yet this is NOT a commercial album. Octopus sound somewhere between The Beatles, and the legendary UK Koobas. The tracks are not focused on solos, but rather with gorgeous melodies and a great lead voice reminding of Paul McCartney. If that sounds like a strange for an underground rock legend, then you can see that this album's going to effortlessly slide from heavy to pop and beyond often in the same track! Opening cut "The River" features a great driving fuzz guitar, strong vocals, and some really great upfront drumming. "Summer" is similarly a rocking track with great harmonies and an obvious Beatles/Badfinger influence. Why is the LP so good? Because Octopus are original. They think about a riff, a melody, a lyric, and build the song around that without being derivative. "Council Plans" is a song that could be said to be Octopus's "Eleanor Rigby," but it sounds nothing like that. "Thief" is the hardest rocking track on the album with fast driving rhythms, dynamic vocals, and again some great drumming. So little is known about Octopus and they may have been a studio only project but that doesn't work against them. The 'tinkering around in the studio' vibe adds to the greatness of this record mainly because there is so much variety. For late 60s Beatles melodic pop into space-rock check out the stunning last track "Tide," while one the Lp's many highlights. Elsewhere "I Say" which has a great melody and super vocal, far too imaginative and diverse to sound like a late '60s Beatles copy band. Overall the LP is a true work of brilliant musical artistry.
