PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Hard to find: 1975 "QUADRAPHONIC" with different song mixes from the 'regular' release from 1971.
The 1975 Quadraphonic ((original issue)) uses a then, specially designed SQ decoder permitting a 4 channel sound separation (as opposed to the regular 2 channel) when playback is through the quad system or even surround sound receiver, resulting in completely different song mixes that can be detected even on the 'normal' stereo system. The record company changed around the song mixes (sounding like things were added) to enhance the quadraphonic 4-channel listening experience....

.........................................................................................
There's a sound and texture to this LP that DYLAN never repeated anywhere else, altogether different music than the preceding Blood On The Tracks - the gypsy violin, the close rural harmonies courtesy of Emmy-Lou Harris, the lean sound of the band, the co-written Americana slant of the narratives, this might be the most collaborative album that Dylan ever recorded.
It kicks off with Hurricane, a thundering protest song that finds him playing hard and loose with the facts of a real life murder case, but the propulsion of the backing band and the passion with which he sings, carrying everything before him, renders all arguments obsolete. Isis then tops it, Dylan the storyteller appearing in full-on murder mystery mode, presenting a genuine tale of the unexpected encompassing hidden treasure, betrayal, unrequited love and a host of twists and turns. What does this song mean exactly? Some are still trying to work that out, even after listening to it for fifteen years.
Mozambique you can take or leave. But the first side ends well with the ominous One More Cup Of Coffee and the mournful Oh Sister, which both re-affirm the dusty Tex-Mex atmosphere. Strong moody songs, well executed.
Joey is an 11 minute outlaw song ...A twelve-verse ballad, it describes the life of deceased gangster Joey Gallo and created a substantial amount of controversy when Desire was released. Dylan presents Gallo as an outlaw with morals, in the tradition of songs like Woody Guthrie's "Pretty Boy Floyd". Dylan's Gallo refused to kill innocent people, made peace with black men, and shielded his family when he was about to be shot as they were eating in a restaurant. Many commentators, notably rock critic Lester Bangs have argued, however, that Gallo was well-known as a vicious Mafioso whose documented career was not accurately reflected in the song's lyrics....
So next up is the brilliant Romance In Durango with its accordion, mariachi horns and spanish chorus, and then another bona fide classic, Black Diamond Bay. Dylan sets up the characters and story brilliantly in the latter. Real depth in the narrative here before he abruptly switches the perspective and delivers the pay-off lines. A perfect example of what makes Dylan such an original songwriter.
Sara is a half successful song and seems a little at odds with what's gone before on this album. Compare it to the masterly love songs on Blood On The Tracks.
So that's Desire - a great listen. Even the little bit(s) that fail are fun.
