Description

The Julliard String Quartet play Schubert's Death and the Maiden on RCA Living Stereo LSC-2378. 1960 first pressing, shaded dog label, 1s/1s stampers. This copy has a touch of wear but plays beautifully. There is a little background noise, mainly at the beginning before the music starts, between tracks, and occasionally during quieter parts, but it isn't too bad to begin with. The music really carries over it most of the time, and I tell you, this is one of the all-time great audiophile recordings of any kind. Just an incredible sound... it should be on the TAS list, if it isn't. I really enjoyed listening to this copy all the way through and was not put off by any condition issues, and I feel I am fairly picky about that. It isn't a perfect copy, but a very nice one. The cover is also VG+, with very minor wear. The lower right corner has been dinged and there is a slight crease and 1/2" seam split. Otherwise almost perfect. A beauty.
