Description
Scorpions: Love at First Sting (1984) LP, Rare Import East German 1988 issue with different Cover* sleeve artwork (*approved by communist authorities 1988) 1st press on the East German AMIGA label, manufactured in German Democratic Republic, a collector’s item. In Great Condition. From personal collection, in 25+ years storage. Well looked after, rarely played and handled.
Vinyl grading: VG+ Clean copy, no skips, no repetitive pops.
Inner sleeve: EX Original paper inner-sleeve in excellent condition. No stains, no creases, no damage.
Outer sleeve: in Very Good condition. VG No stains, no damage to spines. Some Cosmetic wear to edges and corners, minor creases (see close ups)
Rare import / Pressed in East Germany by VEB Deutsche Schallplatten, Berlin, DDR
* The cover artwork as released in Europe was changed for the US market (due to sexual references and tatooing), but neither of these versions were approved for the Eastern block. The approved cover photograph (a live shot of the band posing on stage) came apparently from a live gig in the USSR, and shows a typical discoloration of eastern-film stock used at the time. (It is clearly not shot on Kodak or western equivalents). This album is one of a very few licensed and authorised publications of western (hard)rock / heavy metal acts in Communist East Germany and was quickly out of print or only available "under the counter". See also other German Democratic Republic releases on AMIGA in my listings (Whitesnake, Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, Neil Young ...) The sound quality is great, equipment was of very high standard (the best of the eastern block) used for production of these records. These releases often came in alternative (Commie-authoritives approved) cover sleeves. It is not clear how many of this were actually pressed, but it is clear that they will never be re-issued in that form, and hence are now considered collectables.Delivery in pro-record mailer with Royal Mail insured/tracking/signed-for 2nd C.
