Description
Here we have now, a special limited edition picture disc of the Scorpions 1979 album, "Lovedrive". There are a couple of things which makes this a rare and unique item. First of all, it was put out by the French company Pathe Marconi. There are only a limited number of copies available of the Scorpions' early LP releases, and this is no exception. Usually, the prices are very high for them. Then, the cover was banned, due to its risque' and controversial nature. Now the Scorps loved to cause problems with the covers (think the original covers for "Virgin Killers", and "Animal Magnetism"). This is actually a photo by Storm Thorgerson, who was best known for his work with Pink Floyd. Thorgerson did a few more of the controversial album covers for the Scorpions, as well.
This comes with the original die-cut sleeve. The album tracks are also listed on the back of the sleeve. The picture disc has two different pics, one on each side. It is really, really good condition for its age. Only a few very minor surface marks. No heavy or deep gouges, scratches, or scuffs. The sleeve is a bit worn, but not too bad either!
