Absolute First Pressing of the first album by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. The copy we are offering here is a Deep Groove United States Mono pressing released in 1958 with “1A” in the dead wax of Side 1 and “1B” in the dead wax of Side 2. It just doesn’t get any rarer than this for Screamin’ Jay albums!
COVER: The only thing keeping the jacket from grading a nice VG+ is a 1 inch top right seam split.
VINYL: Both sides are clean for their age and retain a significant amount of the original glossy luster. Side 1 has nothing even close to being able to be felt on the grooves and grades a very strong VG+. Side 2 has more scuffs and light scratches than the other side, plus a long vertical and horizontal scratch beginning near the end of the second song and ending near the beginning of the fourth song which can be felt on the grooves. Side 2 grades VG overall. Side 2 also has a small surface tear near the top of the record label.
