Description

Up for auction is a copy of Skank Bloc Bologna b/w Is & Ought The Western World & 28/8/78 by Scritti Politti, released in 1978 on St Pancras, cat no SCRIT 1. Possibly the best DIY 45 of the era, brimming with invention, attitude, polemic & melody. They never bettered this one, and the fold-out sleeve tells you just how they did it.

Condition: vinyl is fine, a little minor wear, but nothing serious. Fold out cover has some wear & tear on the edges and a mark or two on the front, but it adds to the authenticity (!), and for a piece of photocopy paper from 33 years ago, it’s lasted pretty well. EX/VG (vinyl/cover).

My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor), following Record Collector’s grading guidelines, with an extra + or – here & there to separate the wheat from the chaff. I never use mint as a grade for used records. As a long-term record collector, I know how disappointing it is when you receive over-graded records; my feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings.
