SEALED!! 1968 Shamley MERRELL FANKHAUSER & HIS H.M.S. BOUNTY “Things” PSYCH

1968/USA/Shamley SS701….. here’s a clean flat factory Sealed original  pressing of this rare psychedelic lp. There is a delete hole top right corner, light corner bumps/wear, light wear on bottom seam at opening edge where shrink is torn away, small spot of light wear top seam, left side where shrink is missing, there are a few small tears in the shrink as observed in the pictures, there is a patch of shrink missing on the front cover and there is a small scratch on the cover there, otherwise this is a clean flat original SEALED copy with no splits! After cutting some fine folk-rock and psychedelia on ultra-rare records with his group the Exiles, guitarist, singer, and songwriter Merrell Fankhauser moved to Los Angeles, retitled his backing group H.M.S. Bounty, and recorded a fine, if obscure, slice of pop-psychedelia in 1968,Things. The diverse offerings on the group's sole LP recalled such fellow Californian heavyweights as the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Moby Grape, and even Captain Beefheart. They weren't quite in the same league as those legends, but the album has a light and enigmatic air all its own, and is well worth investigation by fans of late-'60s West Coast psychedelia. A rare psychedelic pastry, well-baked in the California desert, circa 1968! Mindblown original tunes, fueled by jangly 12 strings & kick started with crispy fuzz guitar-here's the original album.

GRADING

MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
