Description
HolyGrail for Guns and Roses collectors! This original pressing / banned cover for"Appetite for Destruction," is something to behold. Still sealed andin mint condition, it is a MUST have for any collector. The album cover it in pristine condition with all the corners being nice and sharp! The original price tag is on the front cover. Original cover art by"Robi" Williams, 1979. Features all of the same songs as the latterdesign: Welcome to the Jungle, It's So Easy, Nightrain, Out Ta Get Me, Mr.Brownstone, Paradise City, My Michelle, Think About You, Sweet Child O' Mine,You're Crazy, Anything Goes, Rocket Queen. Geffen Records, 1987. Althoughthe other album has a very simple but iconic cover of the 5 band members skullsplaced on a crucifix, it was the band's second option after the first coverproved to be to controversial. The original cover was created by artist andJuxtapoz magazine founder Robert Williams. The artwork titled ‘Appetite for Destruction’depicted a robot rapist about to be punished by a metal avenger. After MTVrefused to play any of their videos the band compromised and moved theoffending cover to the inner sleeve. I guess with MTV being the big make orbreak stepping stone for most bands around the 80s and early 90s andespecially with Headbangers Ball being one of the most popular shows on MTVduring the heyday of Metal and Hard Rock, it could have potentially been careersuicide for the band...meaning, this cover is more iconic!!
Note: The cellophane has a 2 inch split at the opening of the album cover. It does not diminish the sealed condition.
