Mint (M): Absolutely perfect in every way. Cover/sleeve: No blotches, stains, discoloration, stickers, ringwear, dinged corners, sleeve splits or writing. Records: No scuffs or scratches.
Near Mint (NM) or Mint Minus (M-): Looks if is opened for the first time. Well cared for. All of the original pieces (inner sleeve, lyric sheets, posters, inserts, cover, record, etc.) are present. Cover/sleeve; Free of creases, ringwear and seam splits. Record: Shiny surface, free of visible defects. No surface noise.
Very Good Plus (VG+) or Excellent (E): Shows slight signs of wear. Light ringwear or discoloration may be present. Cover: May show some minor seam wear or a split less than an inch long along the bottom. Cut-out marking may be present. Record: May show light scuffs or light scratches that doesn?t affect the listening sound. Slight warps that don?t affect play which is acceptable.
Very Good (VG): Shows obvious signs of wear and handling with visible groove wear, audible scratches, ringwear and small seam splits. Cover: There may be writing, stains and creases. Record: Lacks the glossy finish light scratches with slight surface noise that is not overpowering.
Very Good Minus (VG-), Good Plus (G+) or Good (G): Good does not mean bad! Only if this is a rare or collectible record! Cover: Shows ringwear, seam splits, and/or writing. Record: Plays thru without skipping but has surface noise and groove wear.
