A truly unbelievable find! A sealed copy of the original 1960 pressing of Esquivel’s Infinity in Sound LP on RCA LPM-2225. Still in the original plastic sealed “baggie” from the Record Rack in Hollywood, the baggie is a collectors item in itself. Still has the original price of $3.98. This is one of the all-time great instrumental records of the exotica era. Not technically exotica proper, but largely similar in some ways. Hipsters in the 90s declared it to be “Space Age Bachelor Pad Music” and that’s a pretty good description. This was one of his greatest records, filled with all his strange orchestral effects and highly unusual arrangements. Really far out stuff. It is a mono copy, and even though many people prefer the stereo, there are just as many who prefer the mono, or who at least like it just as much. In a way it has more punch and focus than the stereo, which can sound less “full” or a little weak in comparison. They are both great, and quite different. Anyhow this copy is absolutely mint. Unbelievable to find a sealed copy of this classic. Impossible to top this one.
