You can smell the fuming testosterone already from the first glance of the Warhol male-stud cover model's bulging pants rocket to the muscled-pumping songs inside.
Arguably the Rolling Stones' finest hour is a riveting tour de force of jagged-edged blues rock that is also a clinic in shadowy songwriting. Driven by the stinging slide guitar work of Mick Taylor that propels the world's best rhythm section with a Herculean Keith Richards, urgent vocals by Mick Jagger, crisp rim-shot drumming by Charlie Watts, and jazz-timed bass lines of Bill Wyman.
Their songs were never better: "Sway," "Moonlight Mile," "Wild Horses," "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," "Brown Sugar," "Bitch," ""Dead Flowers," among other masterpieces.
