This is a very exciting listing! Better jump on this, because the chances of you seeing it again are minimal at best! This album is extremely eclectic, featuring everything from psychedelic to prog, funky jazz, and more. Released on the Cornball label in 1978, this album of whimsical eccentricity defies musical categorization. From the opening bars of 'Don's Mom's Green Boiled Ham' you just know you're in for something very different and every subsequent track simply confirms this first impression. All six band members are virtuosos of their own chosen instrument, with several showing their multi-instrumental skills with consummate ease. The album rocks at times, then leans back and gives us a soft shoe shuffle a la Leon Redbone's 'Walking Stick.' There's incredible honky-tonk piano, crazy clarinet made stranger by the use of a reed modulator, which gives the instrument a sound the likes of which the human ear has seldom, if ever, heard. The slide and lead guitars are slick and effortless, the drumming tight as it comes, and harmonies that just blend together into one angelic voice. I got this SEALED LP and the accompanying 45 single from Ray Last himself, who also signed the plastic protective sleeve for this MINT LP. There were only 1000 of these LP's EVER pressed, and many many were lost forever in a fire at Ray's place in the 90's, so do the math...not many out there! It's a great record, destined to become a Holy Grail-er, and Ray was also generous enough to include a single Ray did with "Come As You Are", the band Ray was in prior to forming Footch Kapoot. We cannot offer this combination again, because there are simply almost NONE of these singles in existence. I can't stress enough what an important offering this is! What you're getting here is next to IMPOSSIBLE to find again, so don't hold back, and don't miss out....you will NOT be disappointed!
