?1975 VIRGIN RECORDS ENGLISH PRESSINGThanks for viewing my sale for a still sealed copy of “RICOCHET” by German ambient music pioneers Tangerine Dream, probably not a 1st pressing but certainly very early edition since it has been in cool, dry storage since 1980.
Released in 1975, “Ricochet" is the first live album by the German electronic music group. The album consists of two long compositions mixed from taped recordings of the UK and France portions of their August–October 1975 European Tour. The sound of the album is similar to the group's other “Virgin Years" releases, relying heavily on synthesizers and sequencers to produce a dense ambient soundscape, but is much more energetic than anything they had released previously. Ricochet utilizes more percussion and electronic guitar than its predecessors, Phaedra and Rubicon, bordering on electronic rock. The principal innovation on the album is its use of complex multi-layered rhythms, foreshadowing not only the band's own direction in the 80s, but also trance music and similar genres of EDM.

Our New Old Stock (NOS) inventory, mostly consisting of import pressings, come from our long closed record shops: Discount Record Shop and Choice Recordings of Washington, DC and Half-Thoughts Records of Manasquan, NJ. Our beloved record collection is a mix of Rock, Roots Music, 60’s Garage, Psychedelic, Soul, R&B, Blues, Punk, New Wave, Metal, Girl Groups, Picture Discs, Classical, Choral, Opera, Jazz, International/World Beat, Movie Soundtracks, Musicals, Spoken Word, and Audiophile pressings in all genres. We are offering a number of rock and soul singles. Back in the day we would compare sound quality between multiple editions of the same titles to keep the best sounding copies for ourselves. All records were played on high-end turntables with reasonably fresh stylus and carefully monitored tracking force & azimuth.

RECORD GRADING: At this time we are only selling NM to VG+ and many NOS (new old stock).
