Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. The Book Of Taliesyn Before Deep Purple was a pioneering hard rock/heavy metal band, Deep Purple was a pioneering progressive/art rock band. The original Deep Purple line up included Jon Lord (organ), Ian Paice (Drums), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), with Rod Evans (vocals) and Nick Simper (bass and vocals). This group recorded three albums (Shades of Deep Purple, Book of Taiesyn and Deep Purple). This is their second album. A little over a year later Rod Evans & Nick Simper were fired from the band ...Simper went to form WARHORSE and Evans went on to star with CAPTAIN BEYONDThis is probably the best of the first three albums and may be their best studio album. It is a nice mixture of progressive and psychodelic styles with a hard edge. Alot of the music is dominated by Lord's keyboards, but Blackmore comes through on a number of tracks. There are surprising hard rock versions of a Neil Diamond song (Kentucky Woman) and River Deep, Mountain High that was popularized by Ike and Tina Turner. Then Deep Purple add their own originality with the guitar riffs and stylized keyboarding to the Beatles "We Can Work It Out". Overall other highlights are two of the original tunes, the the title track (The Book Of Taliesyn) and The Shield. ...."Kentucky Woman" features one of Blackmore's best solos ever; "Anthem" features Jon Lord in an early attempt to fuse rock and classical (and add to it to underrated vocals of Rod Evans: "If the day would only come/then you might just appear, if only you'd be gone/when I reached out my hand..."). "The Shield" is pure psychedelia, and one has to wonder if Tina Turner ever heard the 10+ minute Purple treatment of her "River Deep, Mountain High" with it's stone-slowed Vanilla Fudge treatment only to pick up speed with a wall of sound rush... - Rod Evans / lead vocals
