Description
Extremely good copy of the ultra-rare mono Decca 1960 recording of Humphrey Searle's "Symphony No 1" performed by the LPO under Sir Adrian Boult, coupled with Matyas Seiber's "Elegy for Viola and Small Orchestra" (LPO Aronowitz) and "Three Fragments from 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man' " (Pears, Melos Ensemble under Seiber himself).
The vinyl grades EX and plays very well with just the odd pop, certainly no repetitive clicks and crucially no crackle. Only one non-audible light scuff visible under strong light prevents an EX+ grading.
The sleeve is front laminated with scalloped flipbacks to rear.It grades EX- being bright and clean. There is no writing nor sticker residues, the only blemish being the lightest of laminate wrinkles to the front.
The inner sleeve is the original white poly-lined generic sleeve that Decca used at the time, printed with "This long playing record is a high precision product...".
The labels are clean and unmarked. They are the Orange/Silver "ffrr ear" full frequency range recording labels (see photos). Matrix numbers are 2A/2A.
Highly desirable, highly collectable and much sought-after!

For your information the gradings I use are as follows:-
Mint (M) - Brand New (Sealed)
Near mint (NM) - Looks almost unplayed * Cover almost brand new
Excellent (EX) - Maybe a light scuff but otherwise great condition * Cover will have some wear/slight crease/faint ring wear etc
Very good (VG) - Could have scuffing and some light scratches etc *Cover might have some creasing/fading/ring wear/marks or writing but still reasonable condition
Good (G) - Should play through ok but will have plenty of scratches etc * Cover could be ripped/stained/unglued etc
Fair - Very ordinary/ Might play but most likely just for the collection* Cover will be pretty terrible.
