PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! 1968 PRE-RELEASE FIRST PRINTING
The 1968 THEM album is one of the most desired artifacts when talking psychedelic fuzzrock ... the band really came together and hit its peak on "Time Out! Time In For Them" where the overload of psych infused lyrics meets the hard-edged wah-wah and fuzz tone guitar led crew backed by tight & crafty melodies jelling to a state of pop-rock perfection...
All four post-Van Morrison Lp's from '67 thru '70 are highly rated by universal collectors as sought collectibles...this title being 'the one' with the Tower issue gathering three figures on the market ...
The opening cut “Time Out For Time In” is very good with jazzy time signatures and effective sitar work. Elsewhere, Exotic numbers like “The Moth” and the lyrically bizarre “Waltz of the Flies” work best, employing a variety of instruments and strange effect sounds. Another highlight, “Black Widow Spider,” is a classic sitar head-swirler while the boys give a good blues psych reading of “I Put A Spell On You” (titled here “I Put A Hex On You”).Once again, if you expect the unexpected and enjoy classic psychedelia, this record is for you. It’s not the original Van Morrison led " Them " but not many bands are. The original THEM members, Alan Henderson/Jim Armstrong/Ken McDowell lineup was a very underrated group delivering music full of mysticism. During this era, Them also had a good live reputation throughout the LA area and released some fine singles including the excellent garage punker “Dirty Old Man.”
Icing on the cake is the original vinyl album sleeve’s beautiful psychedelic collage.
