Seldon Powell Sextet Featuring Jimmy Cleveland Royal Roost Records LP 2220
Sleeve is in two pieces - completely split around all the seams. Glossy front and matte back. Moderate wear and aging. Name on back along top edge. Strip of dried out masking tape along spine edges. See photos. Vinyl is VG MINUS with some dulling to the lustre and a few minor surface scuffs and faint scratches. Would rate VG if not for the loss of lustre. Plays through without skipping and sounds great with only an occasional trace of tolerably faint surface noise.
General remarks about the current batch of jazz LPs we'll be listing in the coming days (If you've read this bit once, no need to continue): We acquired this collection from a musical collegue of our friend Daoud Haroom (the trombonist on Ronnie Boykins self-titled LP on ESP-Disk). There are a lot of rare gems in this batch, but the condition of the sleeves and vinyl varies greatly from really nice to not nice at all. Apparently the original owner had a son who was using (abusing) the vinyl to lift samples for his hip hop project, and he was not always very careful about handling the records. I'll only be listing the stuff that seems worthy - and will give detailed descriptions of the condition. All the vinyl has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty machine and, where needed, also by hand with a chamois rag and Groovy cleaner. All the vinyl will have a paper inner sleeve (original or in some cases new) + a new clear poly bag for added protection. feel free to ask questions.
