Description

A BRIEF HISTORY OF SEON RECORDS The prestigious SEON label (1970-1980) was founded by Wolf Erichson and came about from his desire to record emerging stars of the early music movement. After several years of experimentation and pioneering work during the early years of Das Alte Werk, he felt it was time to create a record label for period music, which uses the most advanced recording techniques available, to ensure that the extraordinary performances of Gustav Leonhardt , Anner Bylsma, Konrad Ruhland and many others are not only preserved, but also allow them to occupy their rightful place alongside the acclaimed greats of the nineteenth and twentieth Centuries. LPs in the SEON Series are released on the PHILIPS as well as ABC Classics labels. For personal reasons I have decided to list some of my SEON series LPs that I have kept untouched and unplayed for four decades!!
