This is an original 1960 UK Stereo 2 x LP pressing in great condition!


(HMV ASD 353 UK Stereo LP 1960) LP 1 (Side 1 and Side 2):

Has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a large sized "Stereo" on the front. It comes with its original polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve.

The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white & gold "HMV" labels. These are grooved also. It has 1st press 2YBA 25-3 and 2YBA 26-3 matrix numbers. 


Sleeve: Superb! There is some very minor rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a very minor crease in the top corner at the sleeve opening. EX+ condition.

Vinyl: Superb! Just some very minor sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. These are on a few areas only. EX+ condition. The labels are in Mint condition and show no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Very Near Excellent condition. There is some light or very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have play tested this LP in its entirety. Side 1 plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall, & Excellent+ in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in some places. Side 2 plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall & Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some places.

This LP would definitely benefit from a professional clean. Visually, as stated, the vinyl looks near unplayed & in Excellent+ condition. Therefore, any crackle is just down to deep down microscopic dirt in the grooves. It would, I believe, play Near Perfect to Perfect after a professional clean.



(HMV ASD 354 UK Stereo LP 1960) LP 2 (Side 3 and Side 4):

Has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a large sized "Stereo" on the front. It comes with its original polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve.

The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white & gold "HMV" labels. These are not grooved. It has 1st press 2YBA 27-3 and 2YBA 28-5 matrix numbers. 


Sleeve: Superb! There is some very minor rubbing wear to the corner tips. A strong EX+ condition.

Vinyl: Superb! Just some light or very minor sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. These are on a few areas only. The polythene inner has left some light or very minor marks on the vinyl on a few areas. These are mainly on the dead wax areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. EX condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

    >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.

EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.

NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 2-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
