Parlophone labels 1961 UK LP.

A first issue UK stereo copy in original condition, featuring:

1. a hard to find original first issue UK stereo copy from 1961,

2. original UK 1961 black and gold stereo Parlophone record labels,

3. each record label features a more unusual ‘ridge’, at about 10mm in from the outer edge of the record label,

4. the record features the earliest ‘mothers’ of, ‘1 and ‘1’,

5. original EMI factory period ‘MT’ sticker on the rear of the sleeve,

6. side two of the record label features an unusual solitary letter ‘T’ embossed around the spindle hole,

7. first issue 1961 UK sleeve with the earliest large stereo logo,

8. the card sleeve is made of the period, ‘thick and heavy’ card,

9. comes with its original, ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The laminate has an excellent, quality glossy finish and has just one slight ‘thumb’ crease. The spine is in excellent condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original period, 1960s tri ‘flip back’ design, ie fold over edges. There are NO tears, pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve with the earliest text of, Patents applied for’. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. Theres NO pen writing, splits, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. On one side there is a 20mm tear around the ‘die cut hole’, the other side also has a 20mm tear around the ‘die cut hole’, there is also a small ‘nick’ around the ‘die cut hole’.

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent++ condition, side two is in excellent condition. The record is made from the period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The records matrix is: YEX 54 - 1 and YEX 55 – 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘1 O’ and ‘1 M’,

THE AUDIO: side one, track one plays with some light ‘ticks’ for a short time so I will grade track one as very good++, the rest of side one plays excellent. Side two plays excellent. The record plays with a full powerful, clear period stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in near MINT condition. On side two there is an unusual ‘solitary’ letter ‘T’ embossed around the spindle hole. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVE, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
