SERENITY - Piece Of Mind - 1972 Down Under DL1501.Very Rare. Original 1st New Zealand pressing.
Hows this for provenance! We bought the LP off Malcolm Lane's (in the middle of pic on sleeve) lovely Dad who now lives just up the hill from here in Hebden Bridge. The family moved to New Zealand when Malcolm Lane was 10 years old and when they returned the sixteen year old Malcolm decided to stay. And just a few years later made this psychedelic classic. Vinyl is VG. It has odd light marks and one audible scratch on side one starting towards the end of Green and Sunny Weather and thru' most of Devil Man. It lasts for three minutes but is not loud and doesn't stick, jump or really affect the enjoyment of the music too much. The rest of the album plays excellent. God knows what his dad was doing playing it and then scratching it. The rest of his collection was Jim Reeves et al!
The sleeve is renowned for rubbing and this is no exception. It is quite rubbed at edges and corners and has a heavier rub on the bottom left corner on the front and the bottom right corner on the rear.
And just in case you were wondering Malcom is alive and well, still in New Zealand and rings his dad every week.
