Description

Beautiful lot of nine original Christmas classics on LP, all in absolutely beautiful condition:

Bing Crosby- Merry Christmas (MCA 15024) - the 1940s classic of classics! Still in the shrinkwrap and mint inside and out.

Loretta Young & Gregory Peck - The Littlest Angel & Lullaby of Christmas (1960 Decca DL-8009) - NM disc and EX cover with 3” split at the bottom, otherwise nearly pristine.

Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians - Now is the Caroling Season (1959 stereo pressing Capitol ST-896) - one of the most beloved choral Christmas records ever. A timeless classic. NM disc, EX cover.

Perry Como Sings Merry Christmas Music (1970s Camden stereo pressing) - his 1961 Christmas favorite. One of the biggest selling records of the 60s! Still in the shrinkwrap with a minty cover. This is the only record in this lot with a touch of wear. A few light marks but it plays near perfectly and just beautifully.

Arthur Fiedler with the Boston Pops - Pops Christmas Party (1979 RCA Gold Seal AGL1-3436) - nice repress of the 1959 classic. Actually sounds better than the earlier pressings. Another one of the most beloved records, which you would hear everywhere in the 60s and 70s and even in the 80s. The soundtrack of every shopping mall in those days! A perfect copy still in the shrinkwrap and mint.

Christmas with Robert Shaw - 1976 quadrophonic disc! Rare-ish. (Turnabout QTV-S 34639) playable on a regular stereo but also on a quad system. Amazing sound! Near Mint disc and cover.

A Very Merry Christmas Volume 3 (Columbia Special Products CSS-997) - 1970s limited edition special pressing for the old Grants chain of stores, where these records were exclusively available. Fantastic collection of all sorts of beloved singers and orchestras of the time: Johnny Mathis, Mahalia Jackson, Jim Nabors, Robert Goulet, Leslie Uggams, Burl Ives, Bobby Vinton… and the orchestras of Eugene Ormandy, Ed Sullivan, Percy Faith…. And so on. Near mint disc and excellent cover.

Carols for Christmas Volumes 1 & 2 - 1984 and 85 limited pressings on Columbia Special Products DP-17891 and DP-18699. David Wilcocks conducts the Royal College of Music’s Chamber Choir and Brass Ensemble. Exclusive pressing for the Woolworth chain, I believe. Classic records of the time! Really wonderful copies, both in the shrinkwrap and mint inside and out.

A beautiful set!
