Description
SEVEN COME ELEVEN -Julius Monk's 1961 Revue -RARE OC LP COLUMBIA records recorded and released this later Monk Revue, and it soon was out of print and never seen again in any format. Revues date, but there value lies in the names involved in them. Once upon a time the Monk revues in particular were great showcases for emerging theatre songwriters and equally great places for new singers and actors to practise their craft. (One of the performers in this cast album is currently starring in one of the newest Broadway hits... MARY LOUISE WILSON, in "Grey Gardens".
Also in this show were PHILIP BRUNS, CEIL CABOT, REX ROBBINS, STEVE ROLAND, DONNA SANDERS, and at the Plural Pianos, WILLIAM ROY and CARL NORMAN. The liner notes on the back of the cover are extensive and give good biographical details on the performers, as well as the Julius Monk Revues. All songs have their full credits as well...writers, performers etc. YOu can see these in the pictures section.
Among the writers are: - WILLIAM ROY, JACK HOLMES, LESLEY DAVISON, BRUCE GELLER, JACQUES URBONT, MICHAEL BROWN, G. WOOD, ROD WARREN, ROBERT ELLIOT, MAXWELL SIEGEL, MARSHALL BARER & RALPH STRAIN.
The COLUMBIA record number is not shown...the LP here is a COLUMBIA SPECIAL PRODUCTS release, and for whatever reason they have not assigned any number. (The original number was OL-5740). The LP is in ALMOST MINT condition. The cover has some wear at the back and top seams, but is otherwise fine.
