Description
Up for auction are Two 7-inch 45rpm’s by the Sex Pistols plus an illustrated book relating to the Pistols at E.M.I. Records. This lot includes:
- “Anarchy In The U.K.” / “I Wanna Be Me” UK: EMI Records, 1976 [EMI 2566] w/ Original Sleeve. Excellent condition with some edgewear to the original EMI sleeve.
- “God Save The Queen” / “Did You No Wrong” Virgin Records, 1977 [VS 181] w/ Original Sleeve featuring artwork by Jamie Reid. Excellent condition with a small amount of scuffing on the “Did You No Wrong” side – otherwise nice.
Also included in this lot, is an illustrated book, Sex Pistols: 90 Days at EMI. London: Bobcat Books, 2007. 149 pages. Chronicles the story from EMI signing the Sex Pistols in September of 1976 through the notorious swearing incident on Thames Television’s Today program, to the band’s extreme behavior at London’s Heathrow Airport that resulted in EMI severing their 90-day-old contract. Includes b/w photographs of the Pistols, the 45rpm of “Anarchy in the U.K.”, promotional materials, contract signing in 1977, plus more. Bound in stiff, glossy wrappers. Excellent condition. Measures h-7 7/8 x w-5 inches.
