Description
Here is a chance to own a very rare and very acceptable playing copy of the Sex Pistols classic 1977 lp Never Mind the Bollocks-Cat No-VIL 12086.This copy was manufactured in Italy using the very beautiful 'Two Virgins with a Red Dragon' mid 1970s Virgin label, completely different to almost any other release of this lp at the time (I believe Greece was the only other country to the best of my knowledge?).It seems more fitting to grace one of the many prog/Krautrock bands on the Virgin roster at the time, but as you can see it's visually very striking.Importantly the lp is in very nice condition with only some light surface wispy hairlines and scuffs. It plays brilliantly with the very minimum of any background noise.I always playtest my lps on my Acoustic Research classic turntable, which always highlights any problems.I'm sure whoever purchases this will not be disappointed. The sleeve has 2 or 3 specks of a gold pen on the front and a few dents and dings. Also there is some ring/ edge/corner/spine wear as can be seen in the pictures, but overall is a decent enough example..certainly not trashed like some copies i've seen. This lp is one of very few pressings where the date the Master Plates were created is etched into the runout grooves. In the dead wax is etched 2-11-77,so it's as near as you'll get to a very first press and certainly pinpoints the date of manufacture.
- Matrix / Runout (Etched in runout groove Side A): VIL 12086-A
- Matrix / Runout (Etched in runout groove Side B): VIL 12086-B
- Matrix / Runout (Etched in runout grooves BOTH sides.): 2-11-77
- As usual any questions about this item are more than welcome.I will post most anywhere Worldwide. Thanks as always for looking in..cheers :)
- N.B Due to my very first problem with a buyer on EBay who refused to pay for the lp he had bid on, i must set new conditions for buyers :( From now on,please could the winning bidder pay within 5 days of the auction.I am a very reasonable easy going person so if there is a problem with payment or more time is needed, please don't hesitate to contact me and i'm sure we can work something out..Thank you in advance for your understanding..All the best as always,Cityrocker.123 :)
